Youth Sunday

We shared the things we loved at Youth Sunday. You are so much more loved by God than those cherished toys and objects of the past.
Here are Daniel, Mariah and Gina the day before Youth Sunday preparing for the service with kittens Tiger and Mordred.

After church the kids had a hot dog lunch, played Duck-Duck-Goose, Sardines, Chess and Bughouse.

Sunday School Interviews Conclude

Josh and Micah interviewed Marvin and Ruby at their home last week.

We all learned some interesting trivia. Did you know that Estille used to trap muskrats as a boy? Or that Ruby was afraid of drowning in the river at her baptism? Or that Lois enjoys Scrabble? Or that Hiram loves to eat at Red Lobster? Did you know that Nancy grew up in the house by the church? Or that Jimmy and Faye met on their high school trip? Or that Gloria's favorite food is fried chicken? Or that Marvin is a WWII vet? Micah and Josh would like to thank all those who participated in the interviews.

Youth Sunday

This Sunday is Youth/Children's Sunday. You are invited to bring something from your childhood that you loved for show and tell. We will discuss our love for that toy, picture, or memory and reflect on God's love for us. Thanks to the dulcimer players, Dinah and Elaine and their families for blessing us with their presence last week. The music was breathtakingly beautiful. It was a joyous "Country Music Worship." Next time let's pull out the boots, jeans and bolos! Remember, "God blessed the broken road that lead me straight to you." - Rascal Flatts

Relay for Life Tonight!

Special thanks goes out to Kathie Moreland and Bridget Browning for organizing the Relay for Life. Food, fun, friends, games, laughter, reflection and reverence describe this meaningful event. Morgan Christian was one of many sponsors. The candlelight vigil was a moving commemoration of the many loved ones stricken with cancer.

Caring for Each Other

The message this week was on caring for each other. We were blessed to have Rick, Cathy, Daniel Stephanie and Lilly fill up a whole row at church. We also enjoyed having Jimmy's friends Ken, April and Caitlin (below). Next Sunday we will have special music -- Dinah and Elaine will be leading the worship with dulcimers. There will also be two songs during the sermon time. Expect a lot of music this coming Sunday and invite a friend!

Micah and Josh interviewed Estille and Gloria during Sunday School. In addition to Estille and Gloria, the boys had a litle toad named Bo visit in Sunday School.

Mariah, Daniel, Josh and Micah played a new game called Steal the Dove after our luncheon. Thanks Mariah for helping arrange the flowers. Also, our neighbors Dale and Regina had the Wus over to their campfire. Dale and David played guitar and sang until late.

Pastor Kitty's Last Sunday

Kitty Roark faithfully served at Morgan Christian Church for 10 years. She will be missed dearly.

The Wus First Week at Morgan

We enjoyed having Rick and Cathy visit on Sunday! The text was from Luke 5:1-11 and the message was entitled "Getting to Know You." Getting to know others is the first step in sharing God's love. Why is it that we avoid some people? Why do we shut some out? Jesus went to the most marginalized people and shared God's love with them. When we open ourselves to others, we put ourselves in a position to bless and be blessed. We have been getting to know all the members of Morgan Christian. The hospitality has been overwhelming! Thank you for welcoming us into this warm and unique church family. Sincerely, David, Julie, Micah and Josh Wu

Micah and Josh interview retired teacher Lois Wilson. Lois loves the people of MCC and enjoys playing Scrabble.

Nancy and Hiram Harville enjoy taking trips with their friends at Morgan. They are both avid UK fans.

Derrick, who lives across the street, showed us a great place to skip rocks.

We LOVE the new parsonage!
David likes the fireplace.

Julie's favorite spot is the kitchen.

Micah loves his new room!

Josh is enjoying all the space!
