Homecoming Sunday

Morgan Christian Homecoming 2010 from David Wu on Vimeo.

What a wonderful day! We had 88 people in worship. Former minister Ed Salerno brought the pastoral prayer. Jason and Sarah brought the special music. We watched a video on Morgan's past year. We had sooo much good food. And the dulcimer group gave an afternoon concert.
Congratulations to Sarah and Jason who will be married at Morgan in August!

Homecoming Hayride...

...and petting zoo, pony rides, wiener roast, shaving cream whiffle ball, guitar music, sack races and spectacular fireworks! What a time! Thanks to the Ammermans, Wilms, Godmans, and everyone who contributed! We had 29 on the hayride and an additional 20 or so meet at the Godman's Bottoms.

Record Attendance plus other Morgan Matters

On June 13th we had 60 people in worship! We have been praying for 60 in worship over the last year and that prayer has been answered! On June 20th we had 58 in worship. Remember to invite someone to this weekend's homecoming. Dawn, Faye, April, Charlotte, Pat and Kevin gave the church basement a deep cleaning and redecorated our space. It is looking terrific for homecoming. We will be selling Morgan Christian shirts for our homecoming. Thanks to Alex and Kathie for a wonderful Father's Day presentation. Also thanks to Estille in his work getting the spiral staircase approved for the new baptistry.
Last week we welcomed Buddy and Connie Hannah as our newest members.
Here is one of Buddy's many cake creations -- an anniversary cake for Charlie and Charlotte Whaley's 53rd!
Carlee, Alexis, Mickayli, Joey, Shelby, Aaron, CJ, Micah and Josh enjoyed hide and seek, Rock Band, swimming, skateboarding, meals together, singing and prayer on the recent youth trip to Lexington. Everyone got along well and enjoyed the new van. Thank you to our anonymous donor who paid for the gas.

Things have been going so well at Morgan. The Psalmist says, "My cup overflows" or "runneth over", we at Morgan have been brimming with a period of joy and happiness. Let us be mindful that it will take extra effort, attention and investment to care for a group of 60 in comparison to a group of 20 which is where we were at just 2 years ago. May God's Spirit continue to provide and may we trust and love in faith.
