October activities
We had a successful trash pick-up on 609. We did 7 miles. Jimmy Godman found the biggest piece of trash (inner tube). Micah found the most interesting, a skull which is yet to be determined. Guesses have been deer, racoon, fox and possum. We look forward to our special 7pm service this Sunday with Shirley Seevers as our guest speaker. The Morgan band will be playing also.

Sept 24-26
It was another busy weekend. We had 13 go Fri night to wish Mabel Carr her 101st birthday. She led us in some old hymns, the Lord's Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. On Saturday we had the fall cleaning, which was actually quite fun.
There was a Domino's game afterward in which (Lois Work won last time, but only had the Domino for a couple hours) Lois Wilson won the Golden Domino back from Lois Work who got second place.

August Events
8-7-10 Jason and Sarah had a wonderful wedding!
Jason's dad got a heart transplant the week of the wedding, Sarah's mom won an all-inclusive honeymoon package and we were able to help with the decorations, tables, chairs and tent. It was a fabulous time!

8-8-10
We had 49 in church today, 50 last week (8/1), and 63 (7/25) the week before. We had Elizabeth, Keeley and Kade Pollard and Mary Lynn's friend Philip as visitors. New members that joined on August 8th include Tony and Kelly Maxedon, Carlee Garrison and Mary Lynn Stephens. The Godman's Pig Roast was a wonderful time. The weather was wonderful and the turnout was great! And thanks to Rachel Carr for playing piano!
Thanks to Rob Braun for the lettering on the van and to Steve and Dawn Wood for putting them on.

July 24, 25th and Upcoming Events!
Thanks to Steve and Dawn Wood who organized the trash pick-up on Morgan Four Oaks Rd. on Saturday. Our crew included Buddy, Connie, Kelly, Tony, Carlee, Ken, April, Courtney, Josie, Steve, Lois, Mason, Josh and David. Thanks also to Randy for the equipment support. We spent about an hour and a half picking up trash, and about two hours afterwards visiting and eating pizza. In church we recognized our first two female elders: Gloria Vaughn and Kathie Moreland! We also installed Buddy Hannah, Connie Hannah and Lois Work as new deacons. It was exciting seeing more than 60 people in worship. On Sunday afternoon we enjoyed the Disciples Annual Picnic. 3-4-1 and Kelly, Micah and David brought the music. Charlie brought "Hillbilly golf" and April organized the badminton games. It was a fun time.

Record Attendance plus other Morgan Matters
On June 13th we had 60 people in worship! We have been praying for 60 in worship over the last year and that prayer has been answered! On June 20th we had 58 in worship. Remember to invite someone to this weekend's homecoming. Dawn, Faye, April, Charlotte, Pat and Kevin gave the church basement a deep cleaning and redecorated our space. It is looking terrific for homecoming. We will be selling Morgan Christian shirts for our homecoming. Thanks to Alex and Kathie for a wonderful Father's Day presentation. Also thanks to Estille in his work getting the spiral staircase approved for the new baptistry.
Last week we welcomed Buddy and Connie Hannah as our newest members.
Things have been going so well at Morgan. The Psalmist says, "My cup overflows" or "runneth over", we at Morgan have been brimming with a period of joy and happiness. Let us be mindful that it will take extra effort, attention and investment to care for a group of 60 in comparison to a group of 20 which is where we were at just 2 years ago. May God's Spirit continue to provide and may we trust and love in faith.
