Homecoming Sunday

Morgan Christian Homecoming 2010 from David Wu on Vimeo.

What a wonderful day! We had 88 people in worship. Former minister Ed Salerno brought the pastoral prayer. Jason and Sarah brought the special music. We watched a video on Morgan's past year. We had sooo much good food. And the dulcimer group gave an afternoon concert.
Congratulations to Sarah and Jason who will be married at Morgan in August!

Homecoming Hayride...

...and petting zoo, pony rides, wiener roast, shaving cream whiffle ball, guitar music, sack races and spectacular fireworks! What a time! Thanks to the Ammermans, Wilms, Godmans, and everyone who contributed! We had 29 on the hayride and an additional 20 or so meet at the Godman's Bottoms.

Record Attendance plus other Morgan Matters

On June 13th we had 60 people in worship! We have been praying for 60 in worship over the last year and that prayer has been answered! On June 20th we had 58 in worship. Remember to invite someone to this weekend's homecoming. Dawn, Faye, April, Charlotte, Pat and Kevin gave the church basement a deep cleaning and redecorated our space. It is looking terrific for homecoming. We will be selling Morgan Christian shirts for our homecoming. Thanks to Alex and Kathie for a wonderful Father's Day presentation. Also thanks to Estille in his work getting the spiral staircase approved for the new baptistry.
Last week we welcomed Buddy and Connie Hannah as our newest members.
Here is one of Buddy's many cake creations -- an anniversary cake for Charlie and Charlotte Whaley's 53rd!
Carlee, Alexis, Mickayli, Joey, Shelby, Aaron, CJ, Micah and Josh enjoyed hide and seek, Rock Band, swimming, skateboarding, meals together, singing and prayer on the recent youth trip to Lexington. Everyone got along well and enjoyed the new van. Thank you to our anonymous donor who paid for the gas.

Things have been going so well at Morgan. The Psalmist says, "My cup overflows" or "runneth over", we at Morgan have been brimming with a period of joy and happiness. Let us be mindful that it will take extra effort, attention and investment to care for a group of 60 in comparison to a group of 20 which is where we were at just 2 years ago. May God's Spirit continue to provide and may we trust and love in faith.

New Elders

Steve Wood and Duke Wilms are our newest elders. This Sunday we recognized senior Alex Carson with a Bible and blessing as he prepares to graduate from high school. Thanks to Steve Wood for bringing his grill for this Sunday's men's cookout. Also thanks to Penny and Michele for the beautiful music. And thanks to Buddy and Connie Hannah for hosting the family fun night. We were filled up with chili and pimento cheese sandwiches. Faye Godman won the ever competitive dominoes game that evening and there were several good rounds of Euchre.

Message from Casey Croley

There were a total of 13 people who walked with us on Saturday... We
ended up having great weather and avoided the rain.
We saw a lot of people with t-shirts and posters that showed the reason
they were walking. It was sad to see the ones that were : "in memory
of."
Matt and I walked proud knowing that, after a hard year, we made it! We
are the lucky ones....

We thank each and every one of you for your donation.

Record Attendance

It has been exciting watching our attendance rise over the past few months. It is rare to have more people in church the Sunday after Easter. We had 49 on Easter Sunday, 51 people on Sunday the 11th and 54 on Sunday the 18th! Sharing the joy of Christ is something that the people at Morgan Christian Church seem to understand well. Thanks to Marvin Wright who hosted the supper/pool/Euchre and Dominos night.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

First Baptist Church of Falmouth hosted the tournament to benefit their mission work in Honduras. It was a fun time. There were about 20 teams registered. Who knows when the last time was that Morgan fielded a basketball team? Derrick Myers, Mason Wood, Michael Shaw and Korey Workman represented us well. They had a 3rd place finish and won some close games against some tough competition.

Bowling in Cynthiana

What a good looking group! Yes, that is Lois and Faye in the back.

Josie's first game! She had fun rolling the ball. When we finally got the bumpers up, she did not need them.

Hiram clearly had some experience. Tony bowled the fastest ball at 22.7 mph.

Micah with a little spin.

Faye seemed to enjoy Josie better than the bowling.

Girls on the phone -- even while bowling.

April with great form.
